At the beginning of 2022, Zhang Jianfeng, founder of “Blue Calico”, and Abbas Naseri, founder of “King Abbas” carpets, embarked on an exciting journey spanning ancient Chinese and Persian art.

They decided to use the finest Persian wool and the skills of the King Abbas weavers to create the first collection of handmade rugs woven in Iran that feature original Chinese cultural designs and elements.

It took 2 months to make the carpet drawing based on Zhang Jianfeng’s original design, and 7 months to weave the carpet. we let the rugs sunbath in Iran’s famous sun for an additional 20 days, allowing the natural plant dyes to reveal their mesmerizing beauty before being given the final touches and shipped to China.
