Henri Matisse

Henri Matisse was a French painter, one of the pioneers of modern art in the 20th century. He has been feeling the unique charm of color throughout his artistic career.

Especially the paper-cutting art in his later years achieved the perfect combination of color and form, and was known as the “Victorious Era of Paper-cutting Art”.

The designers of KING ABBAS Carpet Company were attracted by Henri Matisse’s paper-cut creative spirit and proposed to express their tribute to the artist in the form of handmade carpets.

Designs that were once made with scissors and paper cuts are now woven into Persian handicrafts, with scissors also involved in some processes!
